Grounds and setting was absolute paradise. The staff were warm friendly and attentive from the boatman to the waiting staff. It was more like a private guest house than a hotel. They even provided us with a cake for our anniversary. I found the food exceptional but might be too spicy for some. Other resorts offer a more generous all inclusive drinks package- could include wine and no bar as such. Overall it was bliss - a perfect island retreat

I don't think we've ever received such friendly and caring attention from any hotel in which we've stayed. They bent over backwards to make sure that our holiday was perfect in any way. We booked several excursions out through hotel reception, and once again, the service was excellent.

The hotel was absolutely breathtaking, and the staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The holiday was extremely relaxing and faultless, however it was the efforts of all the staff and Mercury representatives which made the holiday so memorable.

Paradise on Earth. As a women on her own, I felt safe, protected and welcomed by all the staff. The food was very good, the rooms airy and private, the floating cottage absolute luxury. The Ayurveda Village a must, with treatments which relax body and mind. A truly wonderful experience!

The staff at Poovar Island Resort are fantastic nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel itself is excellent value for money and the grounds offer good bird watching opportunities. The Hotel staff sorted out my eticket for my return and organised my departure time. This was over ruled by your representative who wanted an earlier departure which proved unnecessary.

Fifth time at this hotel. Great if seeking a quiet, delightful location sitting by a pool with nothing else to do. Only reachable by boat. No other facilities nearby. Will not suit all but for others a wonderful retreat set in delightful grounds. More a Country Club atmosphere than a hotel. Staff absolutely excellent . We go for four weeks at a time always wishing we could stay longer.
