The exotic island of Mauritius lies off the southeast coast of Africa, a mere 900km from Madagascar. This beautiful retreat has since become one of the richest countries in Africa, thanks to its status as one of the leading tourist hotspots in the world. From the summer months of November to May, Mauritius experiences humid conditions with daily averages reaching highs of 25°C. Due to the high-pressure factor, the rainy-season is January and February can present torrential downpours and thunderstorms on-occasion. From May to November, the island’s warm and dry winter is the perfect time to visit, with a cooler average of 20°C and a low chance of rain.
